01/01 - halbe documenta- an art-show in a greenhouse A short walk away from the former Stasi-HQ in Berlin-Lichtenberg in Gotlindestrasse 44 the artists of poliflur engage in the preservation and the removing of a 600sqm greenhouse built in 1998. The transparent structure hosts an exhibition in September and October 2007, featuring 70 artists. The exhibition 01/01 makes historical reference
to Documenta, but is to be understood as an autonomous sculpture
project. The exhibition cube inside the greenhouse continues the
idea of the classic modern exhibition space and seeks to expand
it. The 'white cell' is not removed but connected to the world outside,
putting itself into an everyday context. The artworks will not be
shown within it, but around it, scattered over the greenhouse. The
greenhouse isn't a site for production but transformed into a metaphorical
biosphere. Every fortnight the exhibition will grow - More artists will present their works every fortnight during September and October - with the last day the exhibition will culminate, which we are looking forward to celebrate especially. current information on -aktuelle Information- Sept/9. - Oct/28. 2007
